Before: The space was closed off from the rest of the house and with a maze of furdowns and dropped cabinets. The peninsula obstructed the room’s flow and blocked the view of the yard and pool. The ovens were small and poorly placed, the fluorescent lighting was harsh and unflattering, and there was an overall lack of storage space.
For this large family, the kitchen is the heart of the home and they needed a space that would reflect their style and accommodate their family.
After: We opened up the space by removing the existing furdowns and peninsula and adjusted the layout for better flow and function. A new electric cooktop was relocated to the peninsula to create a feeling of inclusivity and give a clear view into the living area and backyard. Recessed lighting, pendant lighting, and a chimney style island hood were added to brighten the space. The rich cherry cabinets and exotic granite work together perfectly to create a warm and welcoming kitchen for this family to enjoy for years to come.
